On 1938 a Louise Chambers Corkran found the Rehoboth Art League (RAL) that encourages interest and participation in cultural and artistic activities. Homestead property and building that were adjacent to the League grounds were acquired on 1978. Louise Corkran family home was constructed in 1743 by Peter Marsh at the Homestead area. There home is still there and is considered as a National Register of Historic Places. It is one of the oldest houses in Rehoboth Beach and has been restored to provide additional gallery space.
